Tanzanian Canadian Association Function, February 19,2011

On February 19, 2011 attended the Tanzanian Canadian Association, , 20th year celebration, at Thorncliffe Banquet Hall, in Toronto. The function was attended by the High Commissioner of Tanzania to Canada and the Mayor of Toronto. In attendance was also Irene Ngimbwa, the sick child who is here for treatment from Tanzania.  At that function, I was also presented with “…a humanitarian award towards improving the health of Tanzanian Children.” The award is shown below!

Helping Sick Children From Tanzania

Sick Child From Tanzania - Dec. 2010

For about three years now, I have been volunteering with the Toronto Sickkids hospital and sponsoring sick children from Tanzania for treatment in Canada where such treatment is not available in the home country. This has been a rewarding experience and something,  I plan to continue doing by establishing an NGO and a home and/or hospital for sick children in Tanzania. You can read some of it at:

Dual Citizenship for Tanzanians

This issue is at the heart of many Tanzanians residing abroad. We understand the Government of Tanzania is revisiting the issue and all stake holders will be consulted. Dual citizenship offers many benefits and it is our hope that it will be approved.

This is to meet my New Year’s resolution, to share my ideas, thoughts and dreams with the rest of the world! My heritage is African-Canadian, I want this site to be a  good news breaking-outlet for uplifting African stories not making headlines in the mainstream media of the world!
